It is important to sign up prior to the immersion retreat since the training begins at home. Students complete 14 written philosophy lessons and anatomy & physiology prior to arriving at the retreat.
Our Teacher Training is alignment based Hatha Yoga and incorporates thorough study of Yoga Philosophy. This outstanding aspect of the SOYA Teacher Training Program embraces unity in all yogis, regardless of their paths and styles of yoga (“The paths are many but the Truth is One.” Swami Sivananda). This program is led by Marion (Mugs) McConnell (ERYT500) and Kamala Wilkie (ERYT500) as well as guest teachers for specific sessions. 14 written assignments in various areas of Yoga Philosophy are to be completed prior to arriving at the Immersion portion of this training. Registration recommended 2 months prior to the start date to allow for ample time to complete these lessons.
Our RYT200 Hour Teacher Training includes studies in:
– The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
– Sanskrit Pronunciation
– Kriyas and basic Pranayama
– Chakras, Meditation and Professionalism
– Teaching Asanas, Modifications & Adjustments
– Creating Lesson Plans (Sequencing, Progressions, etc)
– AM and PM Asana Classes in various styles of yoga including Sivananda, Anusara, Ashtanga, Tantra, Yin, Freedom style and more.
