Together we can make a difference!
Today, along with my partners and fellow yoga teachers, Chelsea Ray and Pam Rader, I am so proud to announce the launch of the Lit from Within project – a fundraising platform supporting the integration of yoga into addiction recovery programs.
Today we announce our FIRST of many fundraising events to join in community, raising money and awareness in support of yoga as part of a path to recovery for those suffering with addiction and their families.
As founders, this project is one that is very close to our hearts. But sadly, there are few people these days that haven’t had addiction touch their lives. The road to recovery is profoundly difficult and ongoing for both the addicts themselves and the people that care about them.
As friends, family and community, often there is an overwhelming sense of wanting to help but just not knowing where to start. As yoga teachers, we have had the extraordinary opportunity to see first had the healing and transformative effects of yoga. This project is our passionate offering to do just that – to provide a grassroots fundraising platform to support efforts to integrate yoga into the recovery process. It is the culmination of our desire to share the transformative and healing power of yoga as a path to support addiction recovery.
Please join us on Monday, June 2 at the Laurel Packing House at 1304 Ellis Street in Kelowna for a wonderful gathering of community, as we practice together in support of this very important cause.
Entry by donation: Minimum $10 recommended.
We are all one. Namaste.
