Tuesdays 10:30-11:30 am; Sept. 15-Oct 20, 2015. (6-wk series)
This class for moms and babes is specifically designed to help new mamas regain their core strength, improve posture and build flexibility – with emphasis on strengthening the back, abdomen and pelvic floor, as well as relieving tension in the neck, shoulders and back.
Mamas, come relax, stretch, and increase your overall strength, endurance and well-being. Bond with baby and make friends with other moms. Learn coping techniques for when you feel overwhelmed.
This class requires no previous yoga experience however moms who’ve practice yoga before will find this a great way to transition back to their pre-pregnancy practice. Moms, please confirm with your health-care provider that you are able to participate in yoga. (It’s a good idea to wait 4-6 weeks after delivery of your baby).
WHAT TO EXPECT:
This is a fun, lively and informal class, with absolutely no expectations for your little one to “behave” in a certain way! During class, feel free to stop and feed or soothe your baby and rejoin the movements when possible. We make it part of the practice to welcome babies just as they are, cultivate awareness, and breathe away tensions and worry. At the end of class, relax in savasana with your baby and enjoy an aromatherapy neck massage. No toddlers, please!
